About Mike Rolfe

I am Mike Rolfe, 46 years old, I have worked for the Prison Service for 21 years and have been a trade union representative in various guises since 2007.  Prior to working in the Prison service, I was an accountant working in London.  I also operate my own property business as a landlord.  Like many people I have seen times of financial struggle, both as a child and as an adult, but I believe hard work can pay off and would like to think that my own limited success is testament to my own hard work.

Working in public service gives me an enormous sense of wellbeing and a duty I do not take lightly; however, I recognises the difficult working environment many of our members work in and the need for support is wide ranging and vast.  It has always been important to me to ensure people are treated fairly and given the support they need.

In my experience I have found that many trade unions have self interest at the heart of their leadership whilst pretending to be servicing their members needs, that why I decided an alternative was needed, one where the needs of the members will always come first and where people in position are there to help, not line their own pockets.  We created the Criminal Justice Workers Union to offer that alternative, and as we continue to grow our aim is to continually improve our service and commitment to you, our members.

Join us and be a part of a union that truly represents you.
